Kamilia Vasseur
PhD Student
Kamilia graduated in organic chemistry at Grenoble Alpes University in 2024. During her master's, she worked in the group of Dr. Jean François Poisson (SerCO team) at UGA on pre-biotic chemistry, more precisely on the apparition of Kreb’s cycle 4 billion years ago. She spent 9 weeks investigating how key intermediates of the Kreb’s cycle can spontaneously appear in an aqueous medium without the help of enzymes, an internship based on retro-synthesis.
She joined the LCBM in January 2024, for her master's thesis with the BioCE team, she worked on the synthesis of an advanced ligand for the reduction of O2 to produce H2O2 for green chemistry. Then, she joined the SolHyCat team to start a PhD in photochemistry focusing on the design of new photosensitizers for multielectronic photocatalysis.
Kamilia enjoys watching films, music, and sports in her spare time.
