Afridi Zamader

PhD student

Afridi was born in November, 1995 in India. He obtained his Master degree in Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology GANDHINAGAR in 2018. During Masters, he did 1 year Master´s project on “Synthesis of homogeneous H2 evolution catalyst containing enzymatic features” under supervision of Prof. Arnab Dutta, where he worked with a parent Cobalt-salen and cobalt-monooxime core and introduced variable amino acid residue in the outer coordination sphere to optimize a suitable proton relay to funnel the proton towards catalytic site . He started his PhD project on November, 2018 in the group of Dr. Gustav Berggren at Uppsala University, Sweden with joint supervision of Dr. Vincent Artero, as an Early stage researcher (ESR) of the eSCALED project within EU Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 765376). The aim of his PhD project is to synthesize semisynthetic hydrogenase to develop an oxygen resistant and stable bio hybrid electrode materials for H2 evolution. Apart from Science, he likes sports, music and travelling.
