Abdiel obtained his BSc in Nanotechnology from the Centro de Nanociencias y Nanotecnología, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in Ensenada, Mexico. He is currently completing a Master’s degree in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology within the Erasmus Mundus program at KU Leuven and Université Grenoble Alpes.

He joined the LCBM at CEA Grenoble for his M2 thesis under the supervision of Dr. Laurent Severy. His research focuses on the design of immobilization strategies for molecular CO₂ reduction catalysts on electrode surfaces.

His scientific interests include molecular electrocatalysis, surface functionalization, and nanomaterials for sustainable energy production.
