Nicholas Randell

Postdoctoral Fellow

Nick earned his BSc. (Hons) under the supervision of Dr. Laurie Thompson and Dr. Louise Dawe at Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2012, working in the fields of coordination chemistry and magnetochemistry. He completed his PhD in 2017 with Dr. Timothy Kelly at the University of Saskatchewan, studying isoindigo-based organic semiconductors for use in organic solar cells. He joined the Solhycat group in February 2018 as a postdoctoral fellow working on photoaccumulation of charge in ruthenium complexes with Dr. Murielle Chavarot-Kerlidou. Outside the lab Nick enjoys ultimate frisbee, downhill skiing, and hiking, and is excited to spend time in the Alps.
