Cristina Tapia

Postdoctoral Fellow

Cristina Tapia was born in Barcelona in 1986. She finished her BSc in Biotechnology in 2009 and her MSc in Applied Chemistry in 2015. She received the Ph.D degree in 2017 under the supervision of Dr. Pita and Dr. López de Lacey at the Institute of Catalysis and Petrochemistry of Madrid. During her doctorate she worked with metalloenzymes and their combination with light harvesting semiconductors for bioelectrochemical water photo-splitting.
She joined the SolHyCat group in December 2018. Her postdoc project aims at designing hydrogen production photocathode by combining bioinspired catalysts with Earth-abundant semiconducting materials, and it is cofounded by DRF-Impulsion from CEA and the MOPGA program.
